Global Visibility for 3D Bricks Research
In June 2025, Prof. Sofie Cambré from the University of Antwerp was invited to speak at NT25, the prestigious international nanotechnology conference held in Kyoto, Japan. Her talk, featured in the main session, focused on the use of magnetic resonance techniques to investigate functionalized carbon nanotubes—a core aspect of the 3D Bricks project. The conference also welcomed several other 3D Bricks collaborators, sparking vibrant discussions and fostering new connections across the global research community.
Postdoctoral position on 3D-Nanoelectronic Devices
Application deadline: September 1, 2023
The activity will be conducted in IIT, as leading member of a large European consortium (Italy, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Switzerland), funded by the European Commission within the Pathfinder framework (3D-BRICKS, www.3D-Bricks.eu).
University of Antwerp very actively promoting the 3D Bricks Project
The University of Antwerp, has been very active promoting the project during this year. On February 8th, Cristian Borja Pena presented at the Faculty Research Day, a poster titled: “Doping Carbon Nanotubes by Endohedral Functionalization” (C. Borja, W. Wenseleers, S. Cambré). More than 150 people attended this event.
He also attended the “School on optical spectroscopies of 1D & 2D nanostructures” organized by the Laboratoire Charles Coulomb in Montpellier, 1-5 july 2024, where he presented the poster: “Filling of carbon nanotubes: doping carbon nanotubes by molecular filling” (C. Borja, W. Wenseleers, S. Cambré)

Project kick-off
The 3D-Bricks research project held its kick-off meeting on May 4-5, 2023, in Genoa, Italy.
